Hiring VPs for Strategic Growth at Usercentrics
Usercentrics is a global leader in consent management platforms (CMP), empowering businesses to collect, manage, and document user consent across websites and apps. Their vision is to enable a privacy-first digital ecosystem that respects user data, supporting a more transparent and trustworthy online landscape.
The Challenge
Usercentrics had ambitious growth plans and aimed to hire a VP of Demand Generation to drive their strategy forward. Despite having an internal team and multiple agencies working on the role, they had interviewed 70-80 candidates with no success—none had reached the offer stage. This is where we came in.
Our Approach
We began by reverse engineering the situation to understand why so many candidates had failed to meet the mark. The process started by interviewing the hiring manager, the CMO, to understand her vision for the department and the role itself. Together, we redefined the role's requirements. Instead of focusing solely on finding someone with the exact skills on paper, we sought out the right person who could bring the necessary passion and perspective.
The Results
Successfully filling the VP of Demand Generation role earned us a long-term partnership with Usercentrics. They entrusted us with further executive searches, including hiring their VP of Product and VP of Engineering.
